Blancpain Chronograph Super Trofeo Watches

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is not only the first Lamborghini racing series, but also to become – right from the start of the first race in Silverstone this May – the world’s fastest and most demanding singlemake championship. 30 gleaming Lamborghini Gallard LP560-4 cars – the latest version of this legendary model – are to face off on six equally fabled race tracks during the year 2009. Each of these speed machines bears the colours of the watch manufacturer, while the car driven by Blancpain’s President and CEO, Marc A. Hayek, is entirely dedicated to the brand.

Black is black
At this heart of this new sophisticated and performance-oriented case, the Blancpain Super Trofeo Chronograph, lies its throbbing “engine”, Calibre F185. To reinforce its dynamic nature, the movement of the Blancpain Super Trofeo has been coated by NAC – a state-of-the-art electroplating treatment that blackens the movement bridges and main plate. The mechanical self-winding Calibre F185 is endowed with a 40-hour power reserve and comprises 308 parts.

This movement powers a range of functions including hour, minute, small seconds and date display at 6 o’clock, as well as the chronograph indications with a central sweep seconds hand, 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock. For instant- measurement enthusiasts, the Calibre F185 also drives a “flyback” function. The unmistakable black dial is distinguished by two red and white 9 and 12 o’clock numerals stylised to evoke the numbers painted on the 30 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 racing cars.

Another exclusive feature of this exceptional model is its gold oscillating weight engraved with the inscription “Super Trofeo 2009”.
A sports model through and through, the Blancpain Super Trofeo Chronograph is teamed with a strap in alcantara – like the seats in the Lamborghini Gallardo – secured by a steel folding clasp. Available in a limited edition of 300 with its individual number engraved on the case-back – the Blancpain Super Trofeo Chronograph comes in a presentation box inspired by the taut, opulent lines of the ultra-dynamic Gallardo

Cutting-edge technology
Boasting exceptional performances fuelled by 570 HP and 540 N/m torque enabling it to reach top speeds of over 300 km/h, the latest racing version of the Gallardo line from Lamborghini is a truly exceptional car. Its mettlesome character and its taut, sophisticated lines have inspired the Blancpain designers and master-watchmakers in creating the latest gem from the Manufacture in Le Brassus: the Super Trofeo Chronograph endowed with a flyback function. Like the powerful engine of the Gallardo, this new Blancpain chronograph displays state-of-the-art design and all the attributes of cutting-edge technology.

The case specifically designed for this prestigious line is inspired by the sleek profile of the Lamborghini Gallardo. Crafted in steel coated with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment – blacker than ruthenium and more resistant than PVD – the 43.5 mm-diameter case that is waterresistant to 100 metres features alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Highly sought after for its hardness and its anti-allergenic nature, as well as its intense colour, DLC treatment combines the properties of diamantine carbon (hardness, insulation, chemical resistance) with those of graphite (black colour, elasticity). Based on state-of-the-art technologies, DLC is a treatment applied in thin layers (sometimes less than 2 ?m) by a “vacuum deposit” process.

Moreover, DLC boasts an extremely low friction coefficient and remarkable chemical inertia, two qualities that ensure excellent resistance to wear, corrosion and friction, as well as a flexible kind of hardness.

Porsche 911 Gt3 ? is This the Ultimate in Extreme Road Racing

The Porsche 911 GT3 has been described as brilliance to spare, the problem is with a machine of this capability is thatl there isn’t anywhere within the United Kingdom road network that you would be able to legitimately take advantage of its raw unsurpassed power.

Consider the following, this car can comfortably hit 114 mph in third gear and not break sweat. Its performance is brutal with 415bhp pushing 1375kg this is a car waiting to explode out on to the roads. This car has possibly one of the most powerful accelerations off any road machine available.

Start to push this car and there is no forced induction to bolster the mid- range. OK the gearing is a little different from standard 911’s but it is the apparent ease with which it basically blows other supposedly fast cars off the road whilst still only in third gear that is possibly the most impressive of all of its features.

Accelerating in third gear (god I sound like an obsessive) in the 911 GT3 has memorably been described as “impersonating a leopard undergoing root canal treatment with a poorly administered anaesthetic” and you will hit comfortably 114mph and then you realise that there are three other gears to follow until technically (because we all know that it is not legally possible within the UK) you hit what Porsche claims is the 911’s top speed of 192 mph.

At this point the scenery flashing past the car starts to blur and you realize that the problem with trying to get to grips with this car is the fact that the conventional road network within the United Kingdom cannot cope.

Unless you are either given solitary access to an F1 circuit like Silverstone or Brands Hatch you are not even going to be able to come close to appreciating what this beast can do and even then it takes real experience to be able to master this car at speed. Any fool can hit the accelerator and go. Staying alive to tell the tale, now that requires experience.

If we sum up the 911 GT3 RS, it is going to set you back at least £94.280 (or $192,000) and for that you get a car that will go from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and supposedly tops out at 192 mph though other testers have claimed even in excess of that figure. The engine exerts 409bhp at 7600rpm and has torque of over 298lb ft at 5500 rpm. It has a Power to Weight ratio of 298bhp per tonne.

Funnily enough for car of this power, driving around conventional roads it’s not actually too much of a problem, in fact in fact it makes the act of restraint quite a virtue that is key to enjoying the suppressed power that lies within. Self preservation and common sense quickly remind you that this is not a car whereby you hammer your way through the gears trying to impress the boy racer in the car behind you.

Let him be, you can relax quietly confident that if you really really wanted to, there would be no contest and that he would soon become a very distant memory and shortly history.

Ferrari takes on Lamborghini – Luxcellphone

If Lamborghini can have its own mobile phone, we suppose it’s only fair that Ferrari get one too. Introducing Motorola’s MotoRAZR Maxx V6 Ferrari Challenge. With a V6, wouldn’t that make it a Dino? No matter, because it does have ‘the iconic prancing horse shield on the front and “Ferrari” in the company’s easily recognizable font on the back. The phone turns on with the sound of a Ferrari Phone 1 engine revving.

It’s available for pre-order from the Ferrari Store online for a mere $524 — about the same price as the upcoming iPhone, but oh so much more, um, Italian. And it’s about $1,200 cheaper than that Lamborghini phone which doesn’t come with a red Ferrari leather case.

Vertu Ascent Ferrari Luxurious Series For Tasting – Luxcellphone

Vertu launched its newest collection, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition, to commemorate Ferrari’s 60th Anniversary at a high octane party held today at the Shiro, Mumbai. Vertu worked closely with Ferrari’s design team to develop this exclusive Limited Edition, and only 1947 of this model will ever be made, each numbered from 1 to 1947. The highlight of the evening was the exclusive auction of the one-and-only Vertu Ascent Ferrari Limited Edition piece numbered 60/1947, by ace director Karan Johar. The fact that this handset was brought in to India is especially significant: India celebrates its 60th year of Independence while Ferrari celebrates its 60th anniversary. The celebrations kicked off with Vertu’s Regional Sales & Operations Director South East Asia Pacific, Mr Ranjit Wijedasa, leading in the unveiling of the product through a powerful laser display. This was followed by “director-turned auctioneer” Karan Johar inviting philanthropist Maureen Wadia onstage to donate proceeds from the Auction to the Wadia Children’s Hospital, a cause supported by Karan and Mrs Wadia, and Vertu, which supports the spirit of charitable donation during India’s ongoing 60th independence celebrations. “Vertu celebrates the 60th anniversary of India’s Independence and is proud to donate the proceeds of the auction of the one-and-only Vertu Ascent FerrariLimited Edition piece numbered 60/1947 on this occasion,” said Mr Ranjit Wijedasa, Regional Sales & Operations Director Vertu South East Asia Pacific. The Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition handset uses hand-polished titanium for the chassis and draws inspiration from Ferrari GT cars that embody strength, durability and high-level performance. Echoing this latest edition to the Ferrari GT stable, the handset is encased in red and black Ferrari leather with black lacquer stripes running at the sides. Carefully crafted with the same precision and attention to detail given when assembling a Ferrari, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition celebrates the delicate balance between form and function. The bezel nose on the front of the phone features the famed Ferrari Prancing Horse, while on the rear back plate there is a scaled down iconic Ferrari brake pedal, crafted from high-graded aluminum, like that used in Ferrari cars. To underline the exclusivity of the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition each piece is individually serialised 1 to 1947 – paying homage to the very year when the first car to bear the Prancing Horse marque was built by the founder, Enzo Ferrari. Over the past few months it has been a pleasure to meet many Ferrari owners and, during our conversation, to find they already own a Vertu. But most importantly, Ferrari and Vertu share a common commitment to the highest standards of design, engineering and performance.” It seems like there is a trend to build cellphones with the cooperation specific brands, like Armani, but one of the newest devices on that category comes from Vertu and was made with the help of Ferrari. The phone is called Vertu AscentFerrari 60, and strangely enough, this is a limited edition in which only 60 units will be produced. This special device is suppose to be a commemoration of the 60th Ferrari anniversary.
