Vertu Ascent Ferrari Luxurious Series For Tasting – Luxcellphone

Vertu launched its newest collection, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition, to commemorate Ferrari’s 60th Anniversary at a high octane party held today at the Shiro, Mumbai. Vertu worked closely with Ferrari’s design team to develop this exclusive Limited Edition, and only 1947 of this model will ever be made, each numbered from 1 to 1947. The highlight of the evening was the exclusive auction of the one-and-only Vertu Ascent Ferrari Limited Edition piece numbered 60/1947, by ace director Karan Johar. The fact that this handset was brought in to India is especially significant: India celebrates its 60th year of Independence while Ferrari celebrates its 60th anniversary. The celebrations kicked off with Vertu’s Regional Sales & Operations Director South East Asia Pacific, Mr Ranjit Wijedasa, leading in the unveiling of the product through a powerful laser display. This was followed by “director-turned auctioneer” Karan Johar inviting philanthropist Maureen Wadia onstage to donate proceeds from the Auction to the Wadia Children’s Hospital, a cause supported by Karan and Mrs Wadia, and Vertu, which supports the spirit of charitable donation during India’s ongoing 60th independence celebrations. “Vertu celebrates the 60th anniversary of India’s Independence and is proud to donate the proceeds of the auction of the one-and-only Vertu Ascent FerrariLimited Edition piece numbered 60/1947 on this occasion,” said Mr Ranjit Wijedasa, Regional Sales & Operations Director Vertu South East Asia Pacific. The Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition handset uses hand-polished titanium for the chassis and draws inspiration from Ferrari GT cars that embody strength, durability and high-level performance. Echoing this latest edition to the Ferrari GT stable, the handset is encased in red and black Ferrari leather with black lacquer stripes running at the sides. Carefully crafted with the same precision and attention to detail given when assembling a Ferrari, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition celebrates the delicate balance between form and function. The bezel nose on the front of the phone features the famed Ferrari Prancing Horse, while on the rear back plate there is a scaled down iconic Ferrari brake pedal, crafted from high-graded aluminum, like that used in Ferrari cars. To underline the exclusivity of the Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition each piece is individually serialised 1 to 1947 – paying homage to the very year when the first car to bear the Prancing Horse marque was built by the founder, Enzo Ferrari. The Vertu Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition is handcrafted in the United Kingdom. It also comes with a stylish case, designed by Ferrari’s design team. Made from matching Ferrari red & black leather, the case perfectly complements the phone. “I feel there are many reasons why it is right for Vertu and Ferrari to be working together,” says Vertu President Alberto Torres. “Furthermore we also share many customers in common. Over the past few months it has been a pleasure to meet many Ferrari owners and, during our conversation, to find they already own a Vertu. But most importantly, Ferrari and Vertu share a common commitment to the highest standards of design, engineering and performance.” It seems like there is a trend to build cellphones with the cooperation specific brands, like Armani, but one of the newest devices on that category comes from Vertu and was made with the help of Ferrari. The phone is called Vertu AscentFerrari 60, and strangely enough, this is a limited edition in which only 60 units will be produced. This special device is suppose to be a commemoration of the 60th Ferrari anniversary. Along with the Ascent Ferrari phone, the package includes a valve from a F1 car, and a bluetooth headset from Vertus. Leather and titanium are two of the materials used on the cellphone. http://www.luxcellphone.com candy-plm.lts Article sources: http://www.luxcellphone.com/blog/?p=441

Rent an Exotic Luxury Lamborghini. Rent a Classic One in Las Vegas

Who would not take notice of the impressive Lamborghini Bruce Wayne drives whenever he’s not driving his Bat mobile or any of his Bat-vehicles? This exotic two door, two seater coupe is designed by Luc Donckerwolke and produced by Italian car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Its creation was to commemorate the company’s 40th year of operation and only 50 special edition units were built in 2003.

The Murcielago Roadster was introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year and made its on-screen debut in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, with Christian Bale as the caped crusader, Batman. Having a 6.2 L version of the Lamborghini V12 engine, the Murcielago Roadster kicks off 580 horsepower. This sports car can be equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed robotized e-gear system and has the acceleration speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, reaching the maximum speed of 320 km/h.

The term Murcielago means “bat” in Spanish, making it a suitable car for a Superhero disguised as the nocturnal flying mammal. Moreover, the car’s scissor-opening doors pretty much resembles a bat spreading its wings, or the superhero for that matter.

In 2008, another Lamborghini Murcielago made an iconic appearance in yet another Batman movie bearing the title “Dark Knight.” Alongside Batman’s upgraded equipments, Bruce Wayne now drives a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe. This supercar was introduced in 2006 for 2007 model year.

Powered by a 6.5 L version of the Lamborghini V12, kicking off an impressive 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, accelerating from 0 to 62m/hr in 3.4 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of over 200m/hr. Now, that is unbelievable! But somehow, Lamborghini has made it possible. And what’s more amazing is that despite its whopping power, this exotic car passed all European and American law regarding exhaust fumes. Of course, that was made possible by thorough modifications of the engine and exhaust system made by the research and development team of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

And like its predecessors, the Murcielago LP640 has a permanent four-wheel drive, based on the dependable Lamborghini Viscous Traction System. Driving, handling, and stability at extreme speed are enhanced by new stabilizers and springs, as well as modified damper which is controlled electronically.

Of course, this high powered machine comes with an equally top grade security system including a reliable and larger dual circuit brake system equipped with an anti-blocking system, having an electronic brake control as well as traction control.

The list of the enhanced features of this exhilarating machine could go on forever. However, Lamborghini Murcielagos can only belong to a privileged few. Just like any other Lamborghini’s, production of these super cars are limited, thus, making it more appealing for those who can afford. But driving one is not limited to those who can afford to purchase one. There are several car rentals in Las Vegas , New York , Milan , Monaco , Australia , and in some selected Asian countries.

Good Used Cheap Cars ? Where to Find Them

If you are looking for a car but not quite ready to spend a fortune on a new one, then buying good used cheap cars may an attractive alternative for you.

At the price of getting a new car today, it is probably one of the least profitable bargains you can do. Going by the depreciation or devaluation rate, a new car will lose about 30-40% of its value just in the first 2 years alone. As such, if money matters at all to you, it would be a wise choice to buy used cars that can easily save you thousands of dollars, which you can use on more needy things.

Where do you look for good used cheap cars? For most people, going to used cars dealers to get a used car would be the natural thing to do. Where else would you go to beside auto dealers? That’s precisely the case, as most people don’t realize that there is a way to get an even better deal and that is from Car Auctions.

Every day, thousands of cars are being seized or repossessed because of default payment on bank loans; US customs etc. Sometimes car dealers wanted to get rid of old models fast and they slashed the prices and put these up for auctions. Since there are so many cars being seized or repossessed each day, storage would be a problem and the only solution for them is to sell off these cars fast and cheap.

For a very long time, only car dealers and car brokers knew about the existence of these car auctions and they were able to make a killing out of these purchases. They buy cheap used cars from these auctions and then mark-up significantly on the price before

However, this has changed, and today anyone looking to buying used cars for sale can simply take advantage of this great bargain channel by joining a car auctions membership site. For just a couple of bucks a year, you could easily search through lists of hundreds to thousands of vehicles of all makes and models that are available in the market now. Regardless of where you live be it in California, Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Diego, Miami, Seattle, Australia, UK or Asia, you can easily find a local auction where you could comfortably shop for a car online. Five Tips for Saving Money When Buying a New or Used Car

Buying a car, new or used, is a big expenditure. Unfortunately, most people go to the car dealership thinking they have to pay the full sticker price of the car, not realizing there are many ways to save money. It’s also important to know how the dealers make their money on each car sale. Such knowledge will help you get the very best price on your next vehicle.

1) Know how much the car is worth.

Do your homework and research your car choices before attending a new car sale or purchasing a used car. You’ll want to know the true value of the car you wish to buy as well as the value of your current car if you wish to trade it in.

Visit the factory website of the model of car you want to see what the factory list price is for each vehicle. For example, Ford’s website (http://www.ford.com/) offers an online vehicle showroom where you can choose your next new car and pick the price range.

Go to several different dealers and research different deals on the same car before purchasing it. A lot of dealers’ prices will differ on the same make and model. Check out the wealth of information on http://www.carsguide.news.com.au which offers price comparisons on your new or used car as well as tips to help you when you purchase.

The Red Book (http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/) is an excellent resource to see how much a used or new car is worth. Car dealers make money by marking up the price, as do private sales. Knowing that a car is unfairly priced will help you to save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

2) Get the proper financing.

Car dealers can make a bundle of money selling you more car than you can afford by offering you financing for a longer period of time. You can also expect to pay more for lease options if you’re not careful. Banks and finance companies typically offer a lower interest rate than car dealerships. You can also look into financing from the manufacturer of the car for sale—you’ll pay much less in interest than on a loan from the dealer.

Banks take longer to grant approval than finance companies, which can often approve your loan online in minutes.

Never pay for a new or used car on a credit card, as you’ll be paying lots more in interest rates. One of the very best tactics is to get pre-approved for the purchase of a used or new car at a financing institution before you go car shopping. When you’re shopping, don’t tell the car sales associate. A lot of times the car dealer will cut the price of your car, thinking they’ll make money on the financing later. It will be too late to change the price on the car once they realize you already having financing.

3) Buy at the right time of the month.

Most car salesmen work on commission and get incentives for selling the most cars. By the end of the month they know if they need to up their sales and they’ll be more persuasive and aggressive to get that one last sale. However, you can use this need to sell to your advantage.

Visit a car dealership at the beginning or first of the month for an initial visit, but not to buy. This takes some of the pressure off because the salesmen aren’t going to be as persuasive to have you purchase something you can’t afford or don’t want.

Visit several car dealerships to inspect the assorted car sales and take plenty of notes. Then return to the car dealership of your choice at the end of the month when dealers are eager to make a quick car sale. Chances are you’ll get a great deal on a fantastic new or used car.

4) Forgo the extended warranty and extras.

You don’t need an extended warranty, though the salesman will make you worry and fret until you shell out the extra money to pay for the warranty. Most of the time, if you care for your car properly and maintain it according to the factory specifications you won’t need an extended warranty.

If you really think you should purchase one, wait as long as possible. Most companies allow you to wait until you’re close to the end of your regular warranty to purchase one. By then you’ll know how much maintenance your vehicle needs. If it’s a lemon by nature then an extended warranty might be a good idea in the long run.

You don’t need most of the extras offered, like rust-proofing, paint protection, tinted windows and life insurance. Educate yourself about what you need and what you don’t to keep from paying unnecessary charges.

Verify how much you’re paying for hidden charges such as shipping and preparation charges. Most of the time you can negotiate these charges down in your car sale.

5) Consider Used vs. New

New cars depreciate quickly the first two years of ownership. In fact, expect your $20,000 new car to cost you almost $7,000 in depreciation and interest rates alone (with a 6.9% loan) during that time. When you buy a used car the original owner has already absorbed the depreciation costs, leaving you with a good car that’s worth every penny.

However, the car sale market may be so slow that good deals can be had when buying a new car over a used car. It’s essential to be aware of how much car you can afford to buy and to guard against getting suckered into buying more car than you can afford.

Used Car Purchase Tips:

The uncertainty about a cars history–whether it’s been well taken care of or possibly damaged by an accident–can make some people leery about buying a used car. When buying used, it’s important to look for a car that has been properly maintained and an owner who has the records to prove it.

When buying used consider forgoing the financing and instead buy outright. Financing is a way car dealers to make money off of used car sales. Opting to pay for it in full puts money in your pocket.

Don’t be afraid of high mileage. A car driven by Grandma on weekends could actually have more problems because an idle car usually has problems associated with sitting around, such as plugged lines or rusty breaks. If you’re unsure about buying a used car because you don’t know enough about how cars work, consider spending the money to get a vehicle inspection from a reputable garage.

Porsche N.a Names Transsyberian Rally Teams

To compete in one of the world’s most difficult rally events, the 2007 TransSyberian Rally, Porsche Cars of North America (PCNA) will be fielding three specially prepared Cayennes. Beginning August 3, and covering 3,850 miles of forest, desert, mountains, and plains, the route will pit the Cayennes against 47 other entrants on the 15 day expedition from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

The 2008 Porsche Cayenne S TransSyberia vehicles used for the rally have had a set of special safety equipment added in preparation for the rally. Based on the standard Cayenne S, the race vehicles remain mechanically identical to their street-bound parent right down to the stock 4.8-liter, 385 horsepower V-8 engine. Each participant is fitted with a full rollcage along with racing-style seatbelts, auxiliary lighting, and skid plates, among other features.

The rally will be composed of two teams from the U.S. and one from Canada. Meaning, the three entrants will be divided into three separate teams with two drivers on each team. Rod Millen, Jeff Zwart, and Paul Dallenbach — all former winners in various disciplines, are among the employed drivers for the event.

The North American teams will compete against entries from Europe, South and Central America and Asia, including other teams driving Porsche Cayenne S TransSyberias.

Visit www.porsche.com/all/Transsyberia2007/international.aspx for more information on the TransSyberian Rally or the Porsches entrants.

The team lineups from Porsche include Team USA 1, Team USA 2, and Team Canada.

Team USA 1 is composed of Rod Millen and Richard Kelsey. Millen has won rally championships on three continents. He has reached a class win at the 24 Hours of Daytona and led the Mickey Thompson Off-Road Racing series winning the truck title three years in a row. He is also a multi-time overall winner of the famous Pike’s Peak Hill Climb. Kelsey has won both as a driver and co-driver at the Baja 1000, The Pike’s Peak Hill Climb and the SCCA National Rally Championship.

Team USA 2 is composed of Jeff Zwart and Paul Dallenbach. Between the two, the team has accumulated nine overall and class championships at the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb, the 2nd oldest race in the U.S. Moreover, Zwart has been a U.S. Open Class PRO Rally champion and a class-winner at the abhorrent Baja 1000. Meanwhile, Dallenbach is a three-time winner of the Alcan Rally and a racer in almost every professional road-race series in SCCA and IMSA.

Team Canada is composed of Kees Nierop and Laurance Yap. Nierop has bagged the overall win in the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring aside from many other endurance racing wins. He was a Rothman’s Porsche Cup champion, and co-drove the Porsche 961 (the racing version of the iconic Porsche 959) for the factory team. Yap is an award-winning journalist and photographer from Toronto, Canada who writes for publications like Driven, the Toronto Star and CanadianDriver.Com.

Aside from producing quality Porsche Boxter parts, Porsche has also proven their worth in the field of racing.

Lamborghini Showcase Its Talents – But Not Through Motor Shows

Sometimes a car manufacturer does not only do motor shows in order to showcase its capabilities and cars. It does other types of trade shows too. Lamborghini is in Paris showcasing its skills and capability in the development and application of carbon fibre at the JEC Composite Show held on the 13th to 15th April 2010. The JEC is and organization dedicated to promoting composites internationally. It supports the development of these materials by fostering knowledge transfer and exchanges between suppliers and users. To date, the JEC network connects more than 250,000 professionals worldwide from 96 different countries. Lamborghini is the Honoured Guest of the Paris JEC Composite Show, where Lamborghini’s Director of Research and Development Mr. Maurizio Reggiani held an opening address.

Lamborghini had taken up a booth displaying the latest composite material technologies that the company has developed and/or used and basically showcased the stealth fighter lookalike Lamborghini Reventn at the show.

More than 1,000 companies from all areas of the composite materials industry (especially the aeronautical/aviation companies) had participated at the JEC Composite Show. And you would know that product marketing is also carried out here, where CEOs of these companies (who basically can afford a Lamborghini) are present. I would be pretty confident that a few side deals of car enquiries would be entertained aside from the actual composite technology discussion going on.

Anyway, Carbon-fibre reinforced (CFRP) composite materials are becoming key factor within the high-performance automobile sector, especially since this material is extremely high stiff and very light weight. These materials allow high-precision lightweight design and construction and results in an improvement in power-to-weight ratio. This in turn delivers increased driving dynamics while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Furthermore, within Lamborghini, the utilization of composite materials enables new solutions in the construction of components and, when used as a visual material, offers an extremely aesthetic look to the items utilizing it. Take a look at the Reventn as a very good example.

Lamborghini first gained experience in the application of carbon-fibre composite materials back in the 1980s with the Countach. And now, the flagship model Murcilago (base model of the Reventn) makes extensive use of CFRP in its bodyshell. The bodyshell of the Murcilago weighs only 303 kilograms. A further example is the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, through the increased application of carbon-fibre, its weight compared with the base model has been reduced by around 70 kilograms. The outcome is improved performance with reduced fuel consumption as well as a CO2 reduction of 20.5 percent compared with its predecessor.

If you have an interest in composites, JEC Composites Show Asia will be held in Singapore on 12-14 October 2010 tentatively at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Visitors may be limited to trade visitors (or students) only by the looks of it. And Lamborghini may not be participating in this upcoming show but from the 2009 show in Singapore had some automotive companies, mainly Toyota Auto Body Co Ltd and lots of aeronautical composites based companies (if you’re into aviation that is).
