This triumph came in the right moment, after Ferrarri’s President Luca di Montezemolo said “We are waiting for the real Raikkonen, the one that everybody fears”. Raikkonen hopes this is the beginning of additional wins for the Ferrari’s team and himself “We needed that. It’s good to get the win. We are back in the right place. It’s a nice feeling …we have worked hard to get back and can still improve.”

In the third position came the rookie star, Lewis Hamilton from McLaren and his team mate –double World Champion Fernando Alonso in the seventh place after having problems with a brake sensor during the morning practice and then his gearbox blew while on his first lap. Alonso said that he was disappointed with the results but he is looking to improve in the next stage.

Lamborghini Murci

The 2007 season of the FIA GT Championship was indeed a very good start for the All-Inkl.com Racing team. Christophe Bouchut and Stefan Mücke started the season with the first ever FIA GT victory for All-Inkl.com Lamborghini Murciélago that took place at the Zhuhai International Circuit in Guangdong Province in China.

With more than 22,000 spectators watching at the Zhuhai grandstand, the race was exciting and breathtaking with newly implemented two-hour format. At the start, the BMS Scuderia Italia Porsche 997 GT3 RSR led the race track. However, due to some car problems and the ground clearance, the car was surpassed by two AF Corse Motorola Ferrari race cars with Dirk Müller and Toni Vilander on board.

After the FIA GT Championship race, obtaining the fastest lap, and giving the All-Inkl.com Lamborghini Murciélago its first ever win, The French driver Christophe Bouchut commented: “This victory is important for Hans Reiter, for our sponsor All Inkl and for Lamborghini. I have worked a lot to develop this car, and I really wanted to give to Lamborghini this first win. Winning was one of our goal this season, we did it here in Zhuhai, for the first race. It is great for the team and for all the people who have worked hard.”

Aboard the Lamborghini Murcielago with turn signal lights similar to VW turn signal, Christophe Bouchut exclaims about his success at the FIA GT Championship. He added:

“This is a great moment. Honestly, this is my best victory in the FIA GT Championship. When the Safety Car came, we had to wait around 4 laps before calling Stefan to the pits, in order to give him 35 minutes in the car. Then all the others pitted later than us, so I was first at the restart. I thought that the others would come back quickly, so I decided to do the last 10 laps flat out. Until the finish I was driving over the limit, and I discovered that the car has an interesting potential when you push it over the limit. It is going to be more difficult at Silverstone, but I tell you, we will win again this year!”

The FIA GT Championship at Zhuhai International Circuit marked a very good start for Stefan Mücke’s GT career. He also commented: “Unbelievable – I still can t quite believe it!” the German driver said afterwards. It was a great feeling to be on the top of the podium and hear the national anthem.”

Meanwhile, Dirk Muller, driver of the AF Corce Motorola Ferrari 430 GT2 said:

“It is a really good start to the season. Pole position yesterday, fastest in my stint and the victory – it couldn’t really be better. I knew that it was going to be tight, and it was.”

Cheap Cars at Government Auctions

Yes it’s true! You Can Get Fantastic Deals on Used Cars at Auctions

I know a woman who purchased a 1995 Jeep Wrangler at a government auction for $2oo.  These cars normally go for $4500 at dealers.  These deals occur every day at government auctions.

How Can These Cars Sell So Cheap?

The government seizes people’s vehicles everyday.  These vehicles become available at public auctions across the country; since the government does not have to pay anything for these vehicles they sell them dirt cheap.

Another source of cheap cars is repossessions.  Many people can not make their car payments; as a result their cars are repossessed and sold at auctions.  You can pick them up for pennies on the dollar.  Others misfortunes become your opportunity.  Banks want to sell these cars as soon as possible because the cost of storing them outweighs the banks ability to recoup their loss on these vehicles.  So they are let go cheap.

Why Are These Auctions Kept Secret?

These auctions are a much protected source of income for the majority of car dealerships; therefore, they are not publicly advertised.  You have to find out about them from online auction sites and car magazines.  But they are a legitimate form of car purchase.

These Are Good Quality Cars

Many of the cars are like brand new cars with low mileage.  The government confiscates them because of illegal activity and sells them for pennies on the dollar.  Before the auction starts bidders have the chance to thoroughly inspect the vehicles.  Many auction sites provide a complimentary “CarFax” VIN report before the bidding begins.  That way you can find out a little bit about the cars history before you start bidding on the car.

Conclusion

Government and public auctions are a bonafide way to purchase high quality cars for pennies on the dollar.  Many people do it everyday.  Government seizures and bank repossessions make these cars sell cheap everyday.  You can pick up cheap cars at these auctions.  So the next time you are in the market for a used car give these auctions a try.  You might get lucky!

Pete has many years experience buying and selling used cars. He knows what a pain it can be. So why not try purchasing your next used vehicle at a government auction? You could save thousands of dollars and get a fantastic automobile at the same time. To find government auctions near you contact Pete at: Pet’s Auction Sites

The Debate Over Buying a New or Used Car

Deciding whether to buy a new or a used car can be difficult. When considering your options, which of these three do you fall under:

1. I am looking for a particular car, and am not concerned with its depreciated value over time.

2. I am looking for a balance between investment value and features/preferences.

3. I am looking for a car that will retain the highest value possible over time.

There are distinct advantages and disadvantages no matter which way you choose to go. But let’s look at my recommendations based on the above categories. If you fall into Category 1, you should buy a new car, and drive it for years to come. The key thing here is, that you do not sell you car within the first two years, as new cars lose 60-70% of their value during this time. You should expect less maintenance costs with a new car, but I highly recommend obtaining a great warranty package as well to further reduce your maintenance costs, the point being that since you will be making a car payment, you want to have as few unforeseen costs as possible.

If you fall into Category 2, your decision is the toughest. You will most likely want to buy a used car, looking to take advantage of the first owner’s loss in value, but not too old (maybe only 2-4 years old). But, you also have preferences, such as how large the vehicle needs to be to suit your family, bad weather performance capabilities, gas mileage, and aesthetics like color, interior type, etc. This will instantly narrow your list of potential candidates to choose from, and you may want to consider buying a dealer authorized pre-owned vehicle. You may still end up with a car payment, but you will have the satisfaction of retaining the value of your vehicle longer, and the advantage of a dealer warranty and inspection/guarantee. For many middle income families, this is a very popular and often chosen method.

Category 3 is where I fall. This type of person is looking for maximum value and Return-On-Investment (ROI). They will buy an old car (I usually buy cars that are 10-15 years old) that has high mileage and only a small blue book value. Many times I will buy my cars for around $2,000-$3,000 in cash. I have no car payments, high gas mileage, and low car insurance costs because old cars aren’t worth much. Maintenance costs tend to be a little higher, but still far less than a car payment every month. The key here is to choose a reliable vehicle, and my personal preference is to go with small 4 cylinder Hondas. My last Honda Civic lasted about 3-4 years and was pretty reliable, with only a handful of maintenance problems. Hondas run forever (many people putting 200,000+ miles on them) and are known for their lack of maintenance nightmares.

In closing, I recommend buying an old used car, paying with cash, and driving the car for as long as possible. You will be able to take advantage of someone else losing all the value of the car due to depreciation, you will not have a car payment, and your car insurance costs will be less due to the lower value of the vehicle. It just makes the best sense financially speaking.

All About The Porsche Cayman

In comparison of the engine, The Porsche Cayman is positioned between the Boxster and 911. Still, it has its own different personality. It is snappier, easier, and not burdened by heavy weight hanging out the back and the need to manage the effect of that weight.

The Cayman is strictly a two-seater because the engine sits where the rear seats would otherwise be. This means that the engine is not quite readily accessible, although there’s a way into the oil filler via the boot. Under that long tailgate, is revealed a generous luggage area to supplement the front 911/Boxster-sized boot. Like all other Porsche, the Cayman is not very big, which makes it very practical and usable. And for all its obvious Boxster genes, the Cayman is very much its own car with its curvaceous rear wings and neat fastback roof. As with other Porsches, there’s a movable rear spoiler, which deploys above 120km/h.

Going back to were we started, the engine, the Cayman has 3.4 litres, a mix of the cylinder barrels of a 911 with the crankshaft of a Boxster. A 911 engine is of 3.6 or 3.8 liters and a Boxster S has a 3.2-litre engine. It’s a strange thing, but even though today’s Porsche engines are water-cooled, they still overlay their intake and exhaust notes with a breathy whine like that of the giant air-cooling fans of old.

Basically, the Cayman is a mix and it doesn’t have a huge number of new and unique parts. In short, the Cayman is a structure two and a half times stiffer because it’s just a Boxster with a roof. In turn, that means that the driving experience becomes much more focused because its suspension can have tauter, sportier setting.

Porsche Cayman reaches a maximum speed of 275 km/h and gets from zero to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, even if the fuel thirst is low for such pace. The Cayman is especially good with the optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), but unlike a 911, it works well enough without it, thanks to a ride that’s firm but seldom turbulent. PASM makes the Cayman sit 10mm lower, and in its Sport mode it tautens the damping. And it feels absolutely fantastic when you have the Chrono option (complete with stopwatch for timing your hot laps).

Bottom line, Porsche Cayman is a remarkable illustration of a rigid, solid-roofed bodyshell’s advantages. The Cayman S has all the positive Porsche attributes you could want, and none of the snags. It’s not the fastest Porsche, not the fiercest, not the most breathtaking. It is a pooling of other Porsche parts, which means that the Cayman is not expensive to develop but it will generate big profits. The new car, by the way, takes its name not from a tax-haven archipelago, but from a type of crocodile.
