Lamborghini a Race Car Pedigree Par Excellence

A Lamborghini is synonymous with speed, style and elegance and is very expensive to purchase. It is therefore most important that a vehicle such as this is protected from the elements and there is no better way, irrespective of whether the car is kept inside or outside, than purchasing a car cover. The Lamborghini Automobili company was founded in 1963 by Ferrucio Lamborghini and he used his birth sign, Taurus the bull as the cars symbol.

1963 saw the launch of Ferrucios dream the 350 GTV and which was first presented to the world at the Turin Auto Show. Shortly afterwards, in 1966 the Lamborghini Miura was launched and quickly followed up in 1968 by the Espada 400 GT (GT stands for Gran Turismo or Grand Tourer and was a designation given to cars which would tour around the European continent an aristocratic holiday). Lamborghinis quickly established themselves as the cars of the wealthy jet set and they littered airport car parks around the world.

During the 1970s, a massive shock to the global economy was experienced which impacted car makers such as the Lamborghini Company. Unfortunately, Lamborghini hit financial rocks and ended up being disposed of in a pre-bankruptcy sale to two men George Rosetti and Rene Leimer. Financial difficulties dogged Lamborghini throughout the decade and eventually the company went bust again and suffered the indignity of being sold off by bankruptcy court, this time to the Mimran brothers. It was obvious that there was a market for Lamborghini and for the technology and advances they were making on the race circuits, however what the company desperately needed was the financial backing of a stable parent company.

In 1987, American car giant, Chrysler came to the rescue and bought the company but was unable to turn the ailing car maker around, not least as Chrysler had problems of its own (Lee Iacocca was then the chairman and earlier had to deal with Chrysler repaying government bail-out monies a precursor to the current bail-out of the US car industry). A consortium known as MegaTech bought the company in 1994, though still the company was not properly supported or funded.

Finally, in 1998, the German car giant Audi bought the company and development of Lamborghinis began with sustainable pace and resources. Though Lamborghini has finally been taken over by a stable parent, this does not mean that the benefits only flow from Audi to Lamborghini the reverse of also true with the Lamborghini design team playing a pivotal role in the development of several Audi models and the engine technology being incorporated in the range.

The USAF F-22 Raptor inspired the design of the Lamborghini Reventon which is itself based upon the Murcielago supercar. It features an open top design with a dashboard and drivers position which is based upon a fighter pilots cockpit and has an aggreesive-looking, wedge shaped profile. Powered by a V12 engine which delivers a top speed of 205 mph and acceleration results of 0 to 62 in only 3.4 seconds, but there is only one color you can buy it in Reventon (a color specially designed for the car itself) and resembles the steel grey of the F-22 Raptor.

How to Sell Your Bmw for Top Dollar Fast

How To Sell Your BMW For Top Dollar Fast

You probably think that the best way to sell your BMW is to start by putting an ad in your local newspaper. In a typical metropolitan area, the newspaper circulation on a Sunday might be around 600,000 to 2,000,000 depending on your location. That might seem like a lot of eyeballs to view your ad, but let me tell you why this is the least effective way to sell your BMW.

With newspaper or magazine ads you have no way of knowing what specific words or phrases your potential BMW buyer will respond to best. Usually the ad is written from the point of view of the seller. Unfortunately, where most advertisers miss the boat is that the ad must be written from the buyer’s point of view. And with print advertising you have no way of knowing what motivates your potential buyers. It’s a big waste of your time and money.

See if this makes any sense to you.

The reason the Internet works so well is because search engines display results based upon the words that people use to search for things. For example, if someone types in “BMW for sale” in Google, you are guaranteed NOT to get a list of Chevys, Fords, Hondas or some other kind of car. Your search results will match your “specific” request for information about “BMW for sale”. This is how you focus in like a laser beam only on those people interested in “BMW for sale”.

In my opinion, the best way to sell your BMW fast and for top dollar is to sell it online in an auction situation. There are many auction websites out there. Some are better than others. But the most popular site, known to millions of people, gets the best results.

There are 10 good reasons why you will benefit by using an online auction to sell your BMW:

1. You can get many bidders in a short period of time.

2. You don’t have the hassle of “Lookers” coming to your house wasting your time because they can’t or won’t buy your BMW.

3. You know that your buyers are “real” because they will not place a bid unless they are serious and can afford your price.

4. You know that your buyers are “motivated” to buy today because they are making a bid.

5. Your BMW is available for viewing 24/7 online. Your auction listing will contain all the detailed information about your BMW that buyers could possibly want.

6. Your BMW buyer will be able to order an “Independent Inspection Report” and a “Vehicle History Report” so that they feel confident about buying your BMW online. Everything will be out in the open. Nothing is hidden from your buyer. This makes it easy for your buyer to make a buying decision today because it builds trust and confidence in you.

7. You will get the highest possible price for your BMW because of very basic human psychology. When a serious motivated buyer makes up their mind to purchase your BMW, they will not let someone else buy it right out from under them at a price lower than what they are willing to pay. In other words, the fear of loss motivates your true BMW buyer to pay whatever is necessary to win the auction. This happens every day of the week.

8. You don’t have to accept any price that you consider to be too low. You are always in control of the final sales price.

9. Selling your BMW online using the auction method creates a “feeding frenzy” of ready, willing and able buyers for you.

10. Selling your BMW online using the auction method lets you reach potential buyers that you would never be able to reach with a newspaper or magazine ad.

OK, I know what you’re thinking.

You’re thinking that auctions are only for people who are desperate to sell. The fact is, thousands of BMW sellers every year use online auctions to successfully sell their BMW fast and for top dollar. Online auctions are where the majority of serious, motivated, qualified BMW buyers go to find the best deal.

And here’s another important tip for you. The best deal doesn’t means the lowest price. The best deal means the “Best Value” for your buyer’s money. Don’t forget that.

But don’t take my word for it. Go online and check it out for yourself. You’ll discover “How To Sell Your BMW For Top Dollar Fast”.

Looking for a New Car Loan in Australia ? Then Use a Broker

Quite often when you are looking to buy a new car, the dealership will put considerable pressure on you to sign up for the finance with them. This was my experience recently when I purchased a new car. It would certainly have been more convenient to simply sign up at the dealership but I decided to check out other options and phoned my mortgage broker (he had helped me find a cheap home loan and I knew he also had access to cheap rates for people after a new car loan). What I discovered is that you need to be careful when considering a new car loan. Most new car finance includes a residual figure – this is the amount that remains owed on the car at the end of the lease period. For example you might obtain a new car loan for the purchase of a $50,000 Holden or Ford. The lease or hire purchase agreement will be for say $30,000 over a 3 or 5 year term with a residual of $20,000 – this is the amount that is payable by you at the end of the new car loan term. Quite often financiers will quote a weekly or monthly repayment figure which because it seems manageable also seems attractive. But more often than not the interest rate is much higher than you would think. Make sure when you take out a new car loan that you know the real interest rate that you are paying. While you may want to keep your monthly repayments to a minimum you should try and ensure that by the end of the new car loan term the residual amount you owe will be covered by the value of the car. There is nothing worse than taking obtaining new car finance for 5 years, making the minimum payment, then finding at the end of that new car loan you owe much more than the car is worth. It is painful to have to find $5000 in a lump sum to pay out the lease whereas if you has tightened your belt a little more during the new car loan term then instead of having to pay a shortfall you might find some extra dollars in your pocket. By talking to my mortgage broker I was able to access a terrific car lease and I was also advised about different new car loan structures that can be quite tax effective. My mortgage broker was able to put me onto a package that involved salary sacrifice as well as including roadside assistance and fuel so that after tax I was much better off. I had been unaware of such structures but by relying on my mortgage broker I actually ended up saving myself a lot of money. Don’t rush into the car dealership arrangement without first considering other new car finance available in the market. A good lease broker (or in my case my mortgage broker) will invariably be able to source a cheaper new car loan for you and may have recommendations on how to package it more tax effectively. My mortgage broker was also able to negotiate a better price on the actual car purchase as well, because of volume discount arrangement he had in place with a number of car dealers throughout Australia.

Car Maintenance: Will it Really Help Gas Mileage?

As gas prices continue to rise, the auto industry is out in full force touting the benefits of car maintenance. Many repair shops even have custom “fuel saver” services. While maintaining one’s car is indeed important, does it really save gas? Before we answer this, let’s step back and look at auto maintenance for today’s cars.

The first question we need to ask is – what does my car need (according to the manufacturer) for it to be considered “maintained.” Today’s cars no longer have distributor caps, rotors, points, and a variety of other ignition components – so these don’t need maintenance. Many vehicles now come with extended service parts such as 100,000-mile platinum spark plugs and life-time fuel filters. Oil change intervals have been extended to 5,000 miles or more. The 3,000-mile oil change is ancient history. Coolant flushes and transmission services aren’t needed until 100,000 miles if at all. Yet, even if we performed all the above services, will they increase fuel efficiency? Probably not. Unless your vehicle is misfiring (i.e., not running on all cylinders), you’re gas mileage is likely fine.

So what part of car maintenance adversely effects gas mileage for the average driver of a late model vehicle? Three things: tire pressure, air filters, and excess carbon.

Tire Pressure: Setting your tire pressure is free, and is the best maintenance service you can perform to maintain maximum fuel efficiency. It’s that simple.

Air Filters: Air filters can indeed get plugged after a considerable amount of driving and can then restrict air flow, which will not allow your fuel to burn efficiently. This can also cause excess carbon build-up, which can reduce miles per gallon. The good news: air filters are cheap ($15 to $30), are easy to install, and usually only need replacement every 30,000 miles.

Excess Carbon: There is another auto maintenance service that “can” help gas mileage. It’s called a fuel system cleaning service. Some repair centers call it fuel injector auto maintenance, or a fuel injection service. Simply, chemicals are added to your fuel system through a variety of orifices to clean out excess carbon deposits on your valves, pistons and intake manifold. This naturally forming carbon (in excess) is not good for gas mileage. Excess carbon absorbs gasoline, which would otherwise be used to power your vehicle. However, before you run out and spend the $150 + to have this service performed, there is one important consideration – the service will only work for vehicles that need it. In other words, yes the stuff works, but you’re vehicle may not have any excess carbon build-up. You wouldn’t wash clean clothes – right?

When you see those “fuel saver” services for $100 to $300, they’ll likely include an air filter, tire pressure check, and a fuel system cleaning service. If you’re wondering whether or not your vehicle needs it, ask yourself the following:

Do I use quality gasoline consistently?

Have I replaced my air filter at least every 30,000 miles?

Have I checked my tire pressure recently?

If you can answer these questions affirmatively, you’re probably ok. Buying cheap, no-name gas once-in-awhile is ok. Replacing the air filter and setting your tire pressure is common sense. Also, if you drive like grandma, get out on the highway and press the vertical pedal at your right foot “all the way to the floor” until your vehicle accelerates to speeds at which you’re not all too entirely comfortable. Then repeat a few more times. This will help clean out excess carbon – FREE – less the cost of fuel. Be careful. Watch out for cops.

In summary, follow your manufacturer guidelines for your car’s maintenance – not ones designed by those who stand to benefit most. Use name-brand fuel, set your tire pressure now and again, pop in an air filter, according to your car’s recommended interval, and don’t be afraid to drop the hammer now and again.

The 4-door Lamborghini Looker From the Paris Auto Show

The Lamborgini Estoque has surprised the exotic car world when it let loose it’s $230,000 four-door sports car. Some onlookers at the 2008 Paris Auto show liked it and some liked it just as much as the Murcielago. At the moment, designers consider it only as a concept car but in their Italian headquarters officials are serious contemplating putting it into production. Is there a four-door Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin or Maserati?
Although it is four-door there are no compromises as it was made to compete against rivals such as the Porsche and Ferrari. The name “estoque” comes from bullfighting which is a sword that a matador wears. The new Lamborghini has a 5.2 V-10 engine and it is situated in the front which is rare, and has a trunk for luggage. Well, it is a sedan so that is consistent.
The car still gets long glances of awe due to its commanding presence. The car’s rear haunches are glaring and with 23-inch wheels fit snuggly into the wheel wells with 295/30ZR23 Pirelli P Zero tires. Although is has four traditional front-hinged doors there is no mistaken that is a super-car.
The estoque has optimal weight distribution with a majority of the engine seated behind the front axle line. Officials do not warrant the engine performance however, it is the same V10 in the Lambo Gallardo LP560 which puts out 560 horsepower at a gliding 8,000 rpm, with 398 pound-feet of torque up to 6,500 rpm. The Lamborghini estoque features an e-gear shift paddles built in the rear of the steering wheel. With all these figures and facts on e ca estimate the performance to be close to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 190 mph.
The design team has suggested that Lamborghini has mentioned that production versions may come equipped with engine options for the public such as a dual-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and maybe a 4.2-liter V8 diesel. Moreover, even a hybrid version is being considered.
If production does begin officials say the number of vehicles to be made will be in the 2,000 range and it may replace altogether the Murcielago. Porsche and Aston martin have made strides with their new models such as the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamer. So, now Lambo will make their mark too in this area.
